How it works

Three steps, all online.

1

Pick a plan

Choose the speed that fits your household. You can change it later at any time.

2

Register your modem

Enter — or scan — the MAC address on your modem so we can move it onto your new account. We need the modem's MAC address, not the router's.

3

Add your billing details

Your card is saved now and your first charge starts when retail service begins on November 1, 2026.

Common questions

Why is this changing?

Internet at 5035 S. East End Ave, Chicago, IL 60615 has been provided as a bulk service billed to the building. That agreement ends on November 1, 2026. From then on, residents hold their own accounts directly with American Wide Broadband, which means you choose your own speed and manage your own service.

Will my internet stop working?

Not if you register before November 1, 2026. Residents who register keep the same connection with no interruption. If you don't register, service turns off on November 1, 2026 and you can sign up here to have it restored.

Do I need new equipment or an installation appointment?

No. That is why we ask for its MAC address — we need the MAC address of the modem, not the router. It lets us move your modem onto your new account remotely.

Where do I find the MAC address?

On the bottom of your modem. We only need the modem's MAC address. It is usually labelled MAC, MAC ID, or CM MAC, and is twelve characters long, like AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF. You can also scan the barcode next to it with your phone camera during registration.

What happens after I register?

We email you a link to set up your customer portal, where you can see your plan, billing history, and invoices, and update your card. If anything looks wrong, email info@awbworld.com.
